Elf The Musical - National Tour

Celebrate the holiday season with a musical version of the popular film!

Matt Kopec Gets in Touch with His Inner Child as Buddy in Elf the Musical

When Elf the Musical opens at the Adrienne Arsht Center on December 31, Matt Kopec will star as Buddy, a man raised by Santa’s elves. Playing the role made famous by Will Ferrell in the 2003 movie, Kopec says the role gives him a chance to relive the wonderment of childhood.

“I really enjoy getting to let out my inner child. It’s something that we rarely let ourselves feel as adults.” Kopec says. “There is something so wonderfully simple about Buddy, and I love getting to spend my nights on stage channeling pure positivity and cheer.”

Just like the film, Elf the Musical follows Buddy’s journey to New York to find his real family, once he discovers the truth about his upbringing. “We meet audience members all the time who love to tell us their favorite quote or scene and it’s really energizing to know that so many people have such affection for this story, which has become a contemporary Christmas classic.”

Kopec will be joined on stage by Kate Hennies as Jovie, Matthew Alan Smith as Walter, Jacqueline Grabois as Deb, Gordon Gray as Santa, Kevin Rockower as Mr. Greenway, Jane Bruce as Emily, Tyler Altomari as Michael and Clyde Voce as Store Manager. Elf the Musical will play Miami through January 5.
