Buddy and His Friends Spread Holiday Cheer as National Tour of Elf Opens in Miami

The national tour of Elf opens in Miami on December 31. The holiday musical will playthe Adrienne Arsht Center through January 5.

Based on the 2003 film of the same name, Elf is the story of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Raised among Santa's elves, Buddy is unaware that he’s actually human until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. To find his true identity, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City.

The show stars Matt Kopec as Buddy, Kate Hennies as Jovie, Matthew Alan Smith as Walter, Jacqueline Grabois as Deb, Gordon Gray as Santa, Kevin Rockower as Mr. Greenway, Jane Bruce as Emily, Tyler Altomari as Michael and Clyde Voce as Store Manager.

Featuring music by Matthew Sklar, a book by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin and lyrics by Chad Beguelin, Elf also features scenic design by David Rockwell, costume design by Gregg Barnes, lighting design by Natasha Katz and sound design by Peter Hylenski. The show is directed by Tony winner Casey Nicholaw (The Book of Mormon).
